Laundry
Who likes to do laundry?? Anyone? I LOVE IT!!!
Divide up the clothes. I typically do 4 loads. 1. Dark clothes. 2. Light clothes. 3. Jeans and other heavy duty outerwear. 4. delicates (which is the lady way of saying socks and underwear) (I just negated the lady-ness by saying that) (Oh well).
Sort it all out. It's always a random choosing which one goes first. The only thing is that the delicates must be on the bottom of the laundry basket so as to not be exposed to the public.
Put in the soap. I'm not terribly picky on which detergent I use. I figure if it's in the laundry detergent aisle then it's supposed to be used as laundry detergent. So any one will do.
Put in the clothes. Now don't over load the washer! It doesn't like that. It says, "Dude! Why you gots to fill me like that! That's not how we roll!
When it's finished, put it in the dryer. Now I firmly believe deep down in my heart and soul that if you haven't overloaded the washer, then the same amount of clothes put right into the dryer will not be overloading the dryer either.
The problem with living in New Mexico and doing laundry is the inevitable static that is so extremely staticky that it's nearly funny. I got a pair of pajama pants out of the dryer this morning and the two pant legs were so charged that they repelled each other! I tried to fold the pants and the two legs wouldn't go near each other. It was so funny! I'm holding them up in the laundry room and I keep trying to smooth them to fold them over and they won't do it!!! I think I laughed out loud.
Then it's my personal preference that they clothes go from the dryer, folded into the laundry basket, then immediately hung in the closet. Must minimize wrinkling which in turn minimizes the amount of ironing that I have to do. Because I can't iron. That's a whole other story.
And the best thing about doing laundry today is that tomorrow I have my pick of anything in my whole wardrobe that I want to wear!!! I can pick my favorite shirt and my favorite pants and not have to be disappointed that I can't wear something because it's dirty!!!
Oh life is good. I tell you what.
